The old signboard of Ravenscroft & Fraser (see below) has been revealed, like its neighbour R A Neville at no. 74. It's now "Club Terunno"

The 'Strand' beauty parlour has just closed and the shop stands empty. There has been a hair salon/ beauty parlour here for several years in various incarnations. Runaya is still readable on the signboard

In 1961 this shop was a 'Rentaset' radio and TV rental shop.
The British Motor Industry Heritage trust holds a photo in their archive TV sets being unloaded from the shop into one of the characteristic Rentaset vans. Sadly the image is under copyright and cannot be reproduced here.
